WE BELIEVE

1.The Scripture Inspired

We believe that the Bible, both the Old and New Testament is the inspired and only infallible and authoritative written word of God for faith, conduct and practice. (2Tim. 3:15-17, 1 Thes 2.13, 2 Pet 1.21

2. The One True God

We believe that there is one true God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father; God the Son; and God the Holy Spirit. (Deut6:4; Isaiah 43. 10-11; Matt 28:19, Luke 3:22)

3. The Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is God. The word declares his divinity by affirming that Jesus (is), the creator (Jn 1:1-3, Col 1:16), should be worshiped, (Heb 1:6, Rev. 5:12-14), sinless (Lk 23:4, Jn 8:46, Heb 4: 14-16, 7:26, 1Pe 2:22), the one who forgives sins (Mark 2:1-12, Lk 7:44-50), Eternal (jn 1:1, 8:58-59, Heb 13:8), the judge of man (Jn 5:22-23, Acts 17:31, 2Cor 5:15), God with us, (Isaiah 9:6, Mt 1:23, John 20:28, Romans 9:5, Heb. 1:8), omnipotent (Mt 18.20, 28.20) the ruler of the universe and the head of the church (EPH 1:19-23, Col 1:17-20, 1Pe 3:22), the image of the invisible God, (Jon 1:18, Col 1:15, 2:9, Heb 1:1-3).

4. The fall of man

We believe that man was created good and upright, and in the image and likeness of God. However, man, by voluntary transgression fell and by so doing, invited both physical and spiritual death which is separation from God, (Gen, 1: 26, 27; 2:17; 3:6; Romans 5: 12-19).

5. The Salvation of Man

We believe that man’s only hope of redemption is through repentance and faith in the precious blood of Jesus Christ. (Eph. 2:8-9, Titus 2:11,)

6. The Ordinances of the Church

We believe that there are two main ordinances for the church:

The practice of baptism by immersion is prescribed by scriptures. All who repent and believe in Jesus as Lord and Saviour have to be baptised. By so doing, they declare to the world that they have died with Christ and resurrected with him to walk in a newness of life. (Matt 28: 15; Mark 16:16; Acts 10:47-48, :Rom 6:4)
Holy Communion. The Lord’s super, consisting of bread and the fruit of the vine. It symbolizes the broken body of Jesus Christ and his shed blood on the cross. (1 Cor. 11: 24-25)

7. The Baptism in the Holy Spirit

We believe that the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is the promise of the father for all believers, who should earnestly seek it. (Luke 24:49, Matt 3:11, Acts 1:4-5, 2:1-4.). the baptism in the Holy Spirit is different from salvation. It follows the new birth, (Acts 8:12-17, 10:44-46, 11:14-16, 15:7-9). Baptism in the Holy Spirit brings :power for life and service, gifts for use in the work of ministry, (Luke 24-49, Acts 14:8, 1Cor 12:1-31). The abundant fullness of the Spirit, (Jn 7:37-39, Acts 4:8), a deep reverence for God (Acts 2:42), a strong commitment to God and his work (Acts 2.42), a more ardent love for Christ, his word and the lost (Mark 16:20)

8. Speaking in tongues

We believe that speaking in tongues is the initial physical sign of the baptism in the Holy Spirit. . (Luke 24.47-49, Acts 1. 8, 2:4; 10:44-46; 19:6, )

9. Sanctification

We believe in sanctification; the separation from evil and dedication to God. (Rom 12:1-2; 1Thess 5: 23; Heb.13:12). By the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit, the Christian is enabled to live a holy life (Heb. 12:14, 1Pet 1:15, 16

10. The Church and its Mission

We believe that the church (the body of Christ) has a mission. This mission is made up of three parts

The baptism in the Holy Spirit permits the Christian to evangelize with the power of God accompanied by supernatural signs. (Mark 16:15-20, Acts 4:29-31, Heb 2:3-4).
The baptism in the Holy Spirit permits Christians to respond to the finished work of the Spirit. Thus Christians can manifest the fruit, gifts and ministries as if it were in New Testament times. They edify the body of Christ, (1 Cor. 12: 28, 14:12, Gal 5:22-26, Eph 4: 11-12, Col 1:29.)

Worship. The baptism in the Holy Spirit helps us to worship God in a deeper manner. (1Cor 2:10-16, 14:1-40)

11. The Ministry

We believe that our Lord Jesus has placed diverse kinds of ministries within the church. We find the list in Ephesians 4:11: apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, teachers. God has commissioned the church in order to bring out the world from darkness to light, (Lk 4:18-19, Acts 26:18-20).

12. Divine Healing

We believe that divine healing is an integral part of the gospel. Healing of the human body is answer to believing prayer provided for in the atonement and in the privilege of all believers (Isaiah 53:4-5, Matt 8:16-17, James 5:14-16)

13. The Blessed Hope

We believe in the resurrection of those who have died in Christ and their translation together with those who remain unto the coming of the Lord is the imminent and blessed hope of the church, called the rapture of the church (1Thess 4:16-17, Rom 8:23, Titus 2:13, 1Cor 15:51-52

14. The Millennial Reign of Christ

We believe in the second coming of Christ; including the rapture of the saints, which is our blessed hope, followed by the visible return of Christ with his saints to reign on earth for one thousand years (Zech. 14:5; Matt 24:27,30; Rev. 1:7; 19:11; 20:1-6)

15. The Final Judgment

We believe that there will be a final judgment in which the wicked dead will be raised and judged according to their works. All those who will not have their names written in the book of life will be condemned. The devil, his angels, the beast and the false prophets will also be damned to eternal punishment . They will be thrown into the ardent lake of fire and suffering. This will be the second death. (Matt 25:46; Mark 9:48; Rev 19:20; 20:11-15; 21:8)

16. The New Heavens and the New Earth

‘We, according to his promise, look for new heaven and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness” (2 Peter 3:13; Rev. 21,22)
