The department's remit is as follows:

Bringing together children aged 4 to 17 in a department to promote a spirit of solidarity, civic education and participation in evangelization;
Inculcate in their lives the fear of God and the observance of social and moral rules;
Develop in children a taste for learning, hard work and the pursuit of meritocracy;
Ensure their physical growth while channeling their energies;
The organization of an annual National Children's Week and Children's Camp;
The design of a Strategic Development Plan (SDP) for the department.
